Hearing on FEMA's "Toxic Trailers": Harris' Testimony

The Oversight Committee holds a hearing, "FEMA's Response to Reports of Toxic Trailers." The Committee will hold a hearing investigating formaldehyde levels in FEMA trailers provided for victims of the Gulf Coast hurricanes and FEMA's response to these reports. The Committee will hear from current residents occupying FEMA trailers, experts who are familiar with the health impact of formaldehyde, and from FEMA Administrator Paulison. Formaldehyde is a chemical used in paint and adhesives, and is classified as a "known carcinogen" by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Reports of high formaldehyde levels found in FEMA issued trailers and FEMA's response raise serious public health concerns. James Harris, Jr., a travel trailer occupant from April 2006 to the present, gives opening testimony.

| I agree, I really like to hear his story, but I would like an edited version without the extra 3 minutes of, I'm blessed, it was a blessing, and thank gods. |

| The Oreck Air Filter, does not work. I have owned 2 of them, and 2 Ionic Breezes. The Ionic breeze is the only electrostatic precipitator that I have found to work, but produces ozone and other not nice stuff. I have found better filters, but that aside, none I have purchased have EVER been as bad as the oreck. It is the worst. |

| Wow! Its time to pray people. This is one sad video to listen to. I am hurt and upset at the sametime. The government is messed up. How much longer can this go on. The Katrina victims really need help. All I have to say is God is coming soon and it is time to get it right with him. |
