I've served in Iraq and I can tell you that conditions there are better now than they were before we went. The only thing pulling out now would get us is a civil war with who knows how many sides in Iraq. That, or the power vacuum created by us leaving would result in Iraq ceasing to exist as the surrounding countries ate it up. If you want historical precidence take a look at Poland.

I'm pretty sure Bush said we were going to go after whoever did the 9/11 attack on us, which had nothing to do with Iraq. On top of that, Iraq may be a better place now, but why are we concerning ourselves with their problems. I'm not trying to start anything here, but if i could get a good reason why we are there i would love to hear it. We should have been dealing with our own problems at that time before trying to help anyone else.

This is a major point of contention between conversative and liberal people. I'm of the belief that it's the individual's responsibility to better themselves. The poor need to get a work ethic and attempt to better themselves. I don't know why we went into Iraq, and frankly I don't care at this point.
