these cats are musicians. they ice the complicated rhythms but are not 'above' playing with dynamics. that is a lost art in todays music scene. i have the video with more of his pieces and i never tire of listening to it. this and any Omar Hakim stuff is real tight.

Honestly, I don't see how there's any way you can learn to play like Scofield. Sure, you can take jazz guitar lessons, but that will only take you so far. Scofield just has a natural touch.
