You can only change YOU! Do everything in your life as unto the Lord. Be the best Mom you can. Set an example. My bad marriage ended, but my daughter still sees the wreckage. All I can do is show her the grace God has given me. God will bless you for looking to Him.

I would not consider the chores of motherhood to be "working my butt of for no other reason than the apporval of a mythical being". Even if you do not believe in a higher power, it is disrespectful to the mothers of all time to refer to their works as "for no other reason". The reason for a mothers tireless dedication is Love. 2000 men may be able to create a cathedral in 25 years, but no man throughout eternity will ever be able to create the Love a mother feels for her children.
