Greatest comedy, instrumental duo ever! I met Jethro in 1971. What a great person and talent. His partner Homer was a jazz guitar great. Listen to the chords and harmony...just genius ! And they both could sing !

Great clip. I saw Jethro perform live his first time as a single at the Ohio State fair late August 1971 only a few weeks after Homer had passed away. He mentioned this to the audience and told a few jokes a played an instrumental. I met him a few years later while touring with his new partner Ken Eidson. I corresponded with him a few times in the early 1980's. He was a down to earth person to talk to. If you ever get the chance you have to hear their version of Big Bad John on the Convention lp

I saw Jethro play a solo mando show opening for David Grisman's group back in the mid-80s in the Chicago area. He used to teach at the guitar store I frequented, but I was too young and stupid to realize I should have taken lessons from him. I love the combo of comedy and great jazzy playing in this clip!

Cute song. I really like the guitar playing. These guys come off as hicks, but their playing suggests otherwise. I especially like the guitar playing. Sorry, which is Homer and which is Jethro? What are the guitar players influences?

Jethro Burns was one of the greatest on mandolin. He was influenced heavily by jazz which you can pick up when listening to the rifts. Do some more searches on him.

Jethro: Musical genius. Anyone has the song(s) Flatt
Scruggs performed on the Jimmy Dean show (I think it's the same episode)?
