Love love love this beat, especially when it syncopates towards the end and it's like listening to a giant basketball bouncing off the walls in the world's smallest room

arthur baker was from boston i think. but the new york original hip hop sound is clear. British post punk band gets mixed by American east coast hip hop and latin freestyle producer. great collaboration from a great time. it might be old, but this music is timeless and still makes you want to dance, breakin, popping, electroboogie down.

Oh this is the first time ever that I took notice of Bernard Sumner's bass playing and it sounds GOOD! He plays it like he plays his guitar with this choppy sound. I'm impressed, these guys are great.

"TheRightToBeBold (1 week ago) Rick Rubin?" f*ck no arthur baker the man behind the sound of early 80's electro produced most of Afrika Bambaataa's early tracks, for all of the people that try to act like Hip-Hop is all afrocentric 2 of the biggest influences on what people listen to today are Kraftwerk and Baker this sound was very big @83 it's what got me into music...hip-hop went downhill after this sound faded and "rap" took over

saw Baker a few times @2002 when electro made a comeback...now he faded back into remission...owns restaurants in London. From what I understand, Afrika Bambaataa kinda just sat in the recording sessions for his early tracks and Baker was the one who actually wrote and produced them...yet few know who he is while everybody knows who Bambaataa is. Kinda set the template for today's rap artist/producer relationship i.e. a rapper with an image gets put on the cover of a record made by someone else

AS FOR rick Rubin (the man behind the 808 beats of T La Rock "It's Yours)" which is a MAJOR B BOY Classic in Hip Hop culture,,,this is true. Think anyone gives a f**k about him, he produced ALOT of earlier Hip Hop tracks as well, but is rarely credited
