how can he "surpass" someone who arrange the song? jerry c's version is less famous because its not labelled as "guitar" so not everyone will see it, the sound quality isnt as good on jerrys video but his playing is all together more epic, the only person who seems to top him would be the korean guy that does canon rock 2 or mattrach doing his new canon rock, funtwo can play but i just think its messy at points .. i.e. sweeps?

Well you must be pretty naive if you think no one can pass the creator. There are far better pianist then me in this world. Does that mean that if I create a piano piece, no one in the world can play it better then I? Of course not!

could funtwo have made it himself or was it down to jerry c ? im not saying people cant play it "better" in others eyes, but jerryc will always be held in regard as the creator

and i prefer his version anyway its more lively regardless of the sound quality.
and obviously, jerryc cant surpass pachabel for creating the original canon in D.

@Danto~: Funtwo's video (who was also not even posted by him, but by another random dude called guitar90) was posted a lot of time before JerryC's one (neither of them have accounts here in YouTube). The user guitar90 was smart enough to call the video "guitar" and the tags he used was just the same "guitar", so as the video was posted on early stages of YouTube, there werent many guitar videos, so anything searched related to Guitar, would show up his video. That gave him "some" views :)

Then at later stages of YouTube (and until now), that video had so many views that it was on the top spots of the "Most Viewed" videos page, so anyone who was curious enough to go see the most viewed videos and is into music at all , would notice that a video whose Icon is a guy with a guitar and has millions of views must be good, so that gave him even more views :) Im just giving you the explanation for the question "how can Funtwo's version be more famous than JerryC's".

What are you talking about? I didnt say the song was made by Funtwo, cause it wasnt. As I said, Im just answering the question "How can Funtwo's version be more famous than JerryC's version, knowing that JerryC is actually the creator of it". Thats all.

People liked Funtwo's version better, it's just a matter of choice. I mean for me personally I like the way Funtwo plays it better, that's not to say he's a better guitar player than Jerry C, I just like his style better.
