In general, it's good to be open to different forms of instruction. You are a good student to contrast the two explanations. Again, use what works best. Good luck.
It means you should believe in possibilities, not impossibilities. It's never too late to improve your pronunciation. For some, it can take more effort to retrain your mouth to move in an unfamiliar way. Practice regularly and be very aware of the mechanics. In time, the movements will become more automatic. The goal is to speak clearly, not necessarily eliminate an accent. Good luck!
but.. although we in korea have an effort everyday .. we cannot catch up with your pronunciation at 100%.
if i went to USA, i maybe would learn to pronunciatiing in english more or less perfectly.

what's the principle of widening mouth when people pronunce? i think it is because when pronunciation, people's side tongues are spread and it should be widened? if not, they don't have to widen their mouth..
