More often than not we need change instead of additions - that is, smarter programs not more of the same. That's a whole other topic though. Don't be so foolish to assume that I want to be a cop to carry a gun. A gun is a powerful tool, yes, but a last resort, and one that is sometimes necessary. If it were not a gun it would be a sword, or a rock.

Please don't become a police officer if your only goal is to "bring the hammer of justice down" the goal is to protect and serve. If you need to bring the hammer down do it, but don't give off the image that the only reason you are becoming a police officer is to abuse your power because you will only make it more difficult for the rest of us police officers.
